Franck
Crouvezier is a Wine Educator and Hospitality Consultant
Franck
has been based in Shanghai, China since 2005. He has been managing Kathleens5
Rooftop restaurant developing K5 into a well established restaurant
and a renown venue in the center of Shanghai.
Franck has more than 25 years experience in a range of fine dining restaurants
in various countries, fifteen of which in the role of Front of House Manager
and General Manager.
In
China , Franck continues to educate his staff, as well as supporting professional
and consumer magazines to educate the local market .Franck is in demand
as a Wine judge for the Press Wine Magazine and
China's first Sommelier Competition. Franck
has a long history of supporting and creating a market for the wine industry
. He still receives requests to participate at international wine judging
and corporate wine diners education events.
In Hong Kong , Franck has been part of the team opening of the restaurants
Goccia, Veda, Aqua and Dragon I - high establishment restaurants and clubs
which have been multiple awards winners.
In December 2001 Franck went to set up the first Indian Contempory restaurant
in Hong Kong, Veda. Veda was voted best new restaurant
2002 (HK Magazine) and best top 100 Restaurant (Tattler Magazine) and
was so the first Asian restaurant to win those awards. Franck used his
experience to be on the cutting edge matching Indian cuisine with fine
wines.
In 1993 Franck co-founded the Australian Sommelier Association.
He went on to found the National Sommelier Competition,
the Sommelier's Group, with a focus on Masterclass, and
the Sommelier's Workshops.
Franck Crouvezier is also a Wine Educator and Hospitality Consultant.
With his professional training course and workshops, Franck offers a complete
evaluation of your business and will design an appropriate staff training
course.
Franck judged at the Western Australian Wise Choice Awards
in 1995, The Wine Wise Award in 1999 and judged for the
Label Design Awards 2000 ,2001 and 2004 .
Franck was the sponsor, creator and co-ordinator of the Canberra
District Wineshow in 1998
Franck wrote regularly for The Sommelier's Choice column
in the Sydney Morning Herald and is often quoted in the
press.
Franck has won numerous awards; Best NSW Wine List Award
1995 and Best Wine Waiter for the Sydney
Morning Herald, November 1996. He has also managed to help steer his Restaurant,
bel mondo, to win awards such as Best New Restaurant
1997 (American Express Card award), Best Restaurant
Sydney City 1998 (American Express Card award), Best
Restaurant NSW 1999 (American Express Card award)
and Best Italian Restaurant Sydney 2001 (Sydney Morning
Herald) BEST New Restaurant 2002 (Hong Kong Magazine)
Best New Club 2003 (Hong Kong Magazine).
